ADJUSTABLE U HEAD

Designed to hold beams securely in place. The adjustable height allows adjustments to ensure that  beams are level.
When concrete is placed in wall formwork, the pressure exerted by the fresh concrete tends to force the opposite sides of the formwork apart. The soldiers are prevented from moving apart by use of steel rods called tie rods passing through the concrete to connect the two soldiers together.

U heads are  type of jacks that is used to level scaffold components. It has U shaped slot that fits around a scaffold tubee, and a screw mechanism that allows the jack to be raised or lowered.
