Important Terminologies about Scaffolding
Before you read any further, you must familiarize your self first with the following scaffolding terminologies. They clarify how different parts of a scaffold work together and the different types of scaffolds used in construction.
- Scaffold: The entire temporary structure used for construction, repairs, etc. It includes platforms, supports, and braces.
- Standard or Upright: The vertical poles that hold everything up and transfer the weight to the ground.
- Ledger or Stringer: Horizontal beams that connect the uprights and provide support for the platform.

Before You Build Scaffolding in Construction Site Projects
Scaffolding is an important part of many construction projects, but it also carries inherent risks if not installed properly.
Before you can begin building the scaffoldings, you have to ensure scaffolds are designed by qualified engineers, especially for complex structures or exceeding a specific height limit. And only use high-quality materials appropriate for the weight they will bear (like timber and steel). Inspect wood for damage and avoid painted or treated timber where defects can't be easily seen.
Guidelines in Building and Maintaining the Scaffold
- Assemble and disassemble scaffolds under the supervision of competent person who understands safety protocols.
- The scaffold should be able to support at least twice the expected weight. Use diagonal and horizontal braces to prevent swaying and secure the base to prevent movement.
- Follow specific requirements for different scaffold types (single, double, suspended, etc.) regarding size, spacing, and bracing of components. Avoid using spliced horizontal members.
- Inspect all scaffold materials for damage before each use. Regularly maintain scaffolds and replace damaged parts to ensure their integrity. Don't use scaffolds that have been idle for a long period without a thorough inspection and any necessary repairs.
Best Practices for the Safe Use of Scaffolds
Ensuring construction site safety involves training workers in scaffold use and fall protection, providing safe access points, limiting worker numbers and materials to prevent overloading, and enforcing the use of proper PPE like hard hats and fall arrest systems.
- Training and Awareness: Train workers on proper scaffold use and safety procedures, including fall protection methods.
- Safe Access: Provide safe access points to the scaffold platform, avoiding ladders or makeshift solutions.
- Limited Workers and Materials: Limit the number of workers on the scaffold to stay within the weight capacity. Don't overload the scaffold with tools and materials.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Workers should wear proper PPE like hard hats, slip-resistant footwear, and fall arrest systems when required.
Additional Considerations About Scaffolding
- Consider the weather. Don't use scaffolds in high winds.
- Take down when not in use. Disassemble scaffolds when not in use to prevent unauthorized access and hazards.
- Maintain a safe clearance between the scaffold and power lines.
- Supervision is required during assembly, disassembly, and alterations (1414.02).
- Workers should wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.

1. Q: What's your MOQ(minimum order quantity)?
A: One full 20ft container or 40ft container , mixed products are acceptable. We can produce as per your quantity based on different products. Please feel free to contact us, let's discuss furtherly.
2. Q: What's your packing methods?
A: Packed in bundle or bulk (customed is accepted). For steel pipes, we pack by steel strips with 61 pieces in bundle. Steel plan, steel frame, and steel prop are packed by steel strips in bundle. Couplers are in pallet.
3. Q: What's your delivery time?
A: 3-5 days after received the advance payment. For stel pipe, we can arrange shipment within 3-5 days usualy we have steel pipe in production line. For steel plank, steel prop and scaffolding frame, We will try our best to arrange shippment asap. Also we can arrange partial shipment based on your quantity.
4. Q: Are you manufacturer or trader?
A: We are a professional steel product manufacturer with more than 15 years of export experience. We have our own factories, one is for steel pipe, one is for galvanization, another is for scaffolding, such as steel plank, steel prop and steel frame. We have over 100 workers, with 5 welding line. Our products are exporting to Southeast and Mideast Asia, EU market. With our own factories, we can control the production cost and delivery time better. 5. Q: Where's your factory?
A: Our factory is in Tianjin city (near Beijing), close to Tianjin Port. Our factory is located in the biggest steel industrial zone in China, with the steel industrial concentration, we can get raw material and fittings very fast, and arrange shipment ealrier.

A: Warmly welcome. Once we have your schedule, we will arrange the professional sales team to follow up your case. It is helpful to know better about our factory. We can also do the remote inspection based on current coronavirus situation.
